The hysteretic PWM control method is one of the fastest control technique for the dynamic response of switching power converters. This paper proposes a practical and robust hysteretic PWM control method by employing an additional capacitor in a comparator circuit. This additional capacitor has a role to enlarge the initial hysteretic window voltage just after turn-on and turn-off of the switching operation in order to ensure the stable switching action. As a result, no irregular switching action caused by incoming switching noises is realized at higher switching frequency without spoiling excellent dynamic performances.
