There are two typical wiring structures of MCR that have been put into operation, respectively parallel and series wiring structures. 500kV MCR in Jiangling Station belonged to parallel wiring structure. Later, Yuka 750kV MCR in Northwest China and 400kV MCR in Angola belonged to the series wiring structure. At present, domestic research on MCR modeling method is still based on parallel wiring structure. There is little analysis of MCR with series wiring. In engineering, there are cases where the modeling method of MCR with parallel wiring structure are misused in MCR with series wiring. Combining the application of China's first set of overseas 400kV MCR, this article elaborates the two type MCR, and analyzes the electromagnetic transient modeling methods of MCR with series wiring structures in detail, pointing out the commonalities and characteristics of the two models. Three indicators for measuring the accuracy of MCR model are extracted - excitation characteristic, harmonic content, and response speed. Give on-site operation data of MCR, and establish the corresponding simulation model in electromagnetic transient simulation software. The accuracy of the simulation model is verified by comparison.
