A particular interest has always targeted periodic structures and their electromagnetic behavior [1]. They have sometimes been considered as Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS) where typically the electromagnetic wave propagation is perpendicular to the surface [2]. They are presenting interesting frequency dependent responses by changing their nature toward perfect electric or magnetic surfaces, and practically applied to antenna-profile reduction [3]. Cascading particular FSS layers can lead to specific periodic configurations named Electromagnetic Band-Gap (EBG) structures which are presenting forbidden and allowed propagation bandgaps. Active EBG structures permit the control of these bandgaps and hence allow commanding electromagnetic wave propagation [4].
