This paper presents an overall review of the most recent electromagnetic (EM) based techniques that are employed for non-invasive, continuous glucose monitoring. The different types of EM based sensors are discussed and their challenges are addressed. Such sensors have proven to provide good sensitivity to glucose variation in blood. However, they exhibit some significant downfalls that must be addressed in the design of any future EM based device.
