In weak power grids, power quality can be improved by using EVs as energy storage depending on efficient power control to support grid frequency and voltage. This paper introduces a control and operation strategy aimed at enhancing the stability of frequency and voltage in a weak grid using connected electric vehicles (EVs). Specifically, the proposed strategy involves leveraging the EVs to regulate both active and reactive injected power, thereby reducing frequency deviation and providing voltage support in the event of voltage fluctuations at the point of common coupling during various transient scenarios. The paper describes a simulation of the proposed system using the Matlab environment/ SimPower system blocks and presents results analysis under different operating scenarios. The results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed control and operation strategy.
