This paper proposes a time-reversal method that effectively reconstructs sparse sources using a focal underdetermined system solver (FOCUSS). The TR process is first formulated into an underdetermined matrix equation with the source amplitudes as the unknowns to be solved. Since the unknowns sources constitute a sparse vector, they are solved by using FOCUSS. A 3D numerical example is presented to verify the effectiveness and advantage of the proposed method.
