This paper proposes the integration of the state flow approach and the perturb and observe algorithm to track the maximum power point of photovoltaic modules. The proposed state flow approach utilizes perturb and observe to control the duty cycle of a boost-type power electronics interface integrated with the PV system to provide maximum power point tracking at varying temperature and irradiance levels. The simulation results are provided to evaluate the performance of the proposed strategy.
