A continuous survey of students’ Generic Skills (GSs) has been conducted since academic year of 2014 at National Institute of Technology, Sendai College (Sendai KOSEN). Five years have passed since the survey started, and the survey from students’ admission to their graduation at Sendai KOSEN has been completed. Our students’ growth characteristics of GSs in the educational curriculum at Sendai KOSEN became evident from this five-year continuous survey.. Based on the survey results, we propose a “students’ voluntary growth system of GSs.” Using this proposed method, students can be expected to enter a cycle of improving their own generic skills voluntarily and effectively.
