Due to the continuous growth of power consumption in the data center, the DC bus voltage in the power supply architecture will be increased to 48V, which puts forward new requirements for the design of step-down converter for the data center. Compared with inductor based power converters, switched capacitor converters have higher power density and switch utilization. Among various switched capacitor topologies, Dickson topology is particularly suitable for high step-down converter due to its characteristics. In this paper, the Dickson topology is deconstructed and the implementation methods of different transformer ratios are analyzed. Based on relevant research, a prototype with an input voltage of 48V was made using the topology with a step-down ratio of 7-to-1. The peak efficiency of the prototype was tested to be 93.4%., and the maximum output current of the prototype is 15A.
