Bacteria can cause a variety of diseases, which not only aggravates the economic burden of patients, but also consumes a lot of social medical resources. Therefore, resistance to bacterial infection is a top priority in the treatment of various diseases. In this paper, the flower-like cuprous oxide had been successfully obtained by one-pot hydrothermal method. The shape, morphology, structure and chemical compositions of the as-prepared cuprous oxide were verified by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. In addition, the antimicrobial effect of flowerlike cuprous oxide had been systematically studied. It was gratifying that the flower-like cuprous oxide showed excellent resistance to Escherichia coli. Thus, the as-prepared Cu 2 O could be regarded as a promising bacteriostatic candidate.
