In this work, an Ag nanoparticle (NP) assisted TiO2 nanowire photoanode was deposited on a flexible ITO-PEN substrate using the GLAD technique at low temperature. The morphological, structural and optical properties of the samples are characterized. The Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) image reveals the successful deposition of Ag-NP assisted TiO2-NW on the ITO-PEN substrate. And, the measured thickness of the TiO2 nanostructure is ~ 10 µm. Furthermore, X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis shows the presence of anatase TiO2 and Ag-NP in the sample from the weak peaks. The optical analysis reveals that the deposition of TiO2-NW improves the absorption intensity in the UV and visible regions. Moreover, it is fascinating to observe that the absorption intensity is enhanced significantly after assisting Ag-NP at the top of the TiO2-NW. Therefore, the proposed method of deposition of Ag-NP assisted TiO2-NW using GLAD may be employed for developing novel photoanodes for flexible DSSCs and other optoelectronic applications.
