Many enterprises lack theoretical analysis in the establishment of a warehouse, resulting in high storage costs, operational efficiency, and others. Thus, we investigated how to improve the efficiency of the warehouse in and out of the warehouse and reduce the waste of resources in warehousing operations for warehouse No. 5 of Company A as a study case. First, the EIQ-ABC analysis was applied to analyze the goods orders in Warehouse 5 to improve the warehousing strategy. Then, a mathematical model of cargo space optimization was established for efficient cargo entry and exit and shelf stability using a genetic algorithm. The results showed that optimizing cargo space allocation using the improved multi-objective genetic algorithm improved the efficiency of access and storage and enhanced the stability of the shelves.
