A continuously beam scanning leaky-wave antenna (LWA) is proposed based on planar spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs). The energy is leaked because of periodic perturbations in the form of impedance stepping SSPPs. The operating frequency of the antenna is 7 to 12 GHz and the scanning angle reaches 71 degrees in the upper and lower space Besides, the average gain level of the antenna is 7.5 dBi.
