This study describes the characteristics and structure of an extended range electric car, examines the operating mode, and develops the general control strategy, drive mode, and braking mode. Then, using CRUISE and MATLAB software, construct the vehicle simulation model and the vehicle control strategy model, complete the dynamic and economic simulation, and compare the results with the comprehensive consumption of fuel simulation utilizing the thermostat managing strategy; after the comparison analysis, the comprehensive fuel consumption and comprehensive driving cost under the multi-working point control strategy decreased by 5.78%, which is more in line with the economics.
