In this paper, a real-time wireless respiratory monitoring system using a dual pair of detectors-based thermal flow (D 2 TF) sensor with a wide linear range is reported. The D 2 TF sensor structure and packaging are optimized to achieve a linear range of -70 SLM ~ 70 SLM (-4 m/s ~ 4 m/s) and a sensitivity of 9.18 mV/SLM. Moreover, the developed wireless sensor system shows a system response time of less than 23 ms with a data sample rate of 2 kHz, which can capture sharp signal changes in respiration. Therefore, the proposed respiratory monitoring system can significantly reduce the complexity of calibration and simplify signal processing, which is promising for low-cost intelligent medical care applications.
