This paper presents a real-time (RT) interface based on inhouse developed embedded control hardware and two commercial software packages. MATLAB is used for rapid USB communication while LabVIEW is used for the user front-end and Ethernet communication environment. The interface is supervised by a remote panel running in a client-server model. The project is oriented to an adjustable speed driver (ASD) based on the TMS320F2812 DSC which is suitable for measuring parameters on a three-phase induction motor. The hardware is composed of many sections in order to accomplish debugging in electronic and electrical stages and developing the whole system within a short period of time. A brief summary of vector control method (VCM) is featured in order to understand the principles of the algorithm embedded on a chip.
