A flexible and wideband Yttrium Iron Garnet (YIG) ferrite circulator is proposed in this work. The circulator is designed by embedding YIG bulk and Y-junction circuit into the center of flexible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate. The distance between the YIG and the top/bottom surfaces of the substrate is 0.5 mm, which can impart flexibility to the rigid ferrite bulk without detaching from the substrate. By optimizing the structural parameters of the simulation model, a wide relative bandwidth of 42.5% with return loss and isolation exceeding 20 dB is realized in the C-band. Meanwhile, a demonstration prototype is successfully manufactured. The circulator presented in this paper can provide a reference scheme for the design of flexible and high-performance ferrite circulator.
