In this study, concepts in engineering mathematics were elucidated through whiteboard animation to enhance students’ comprehension of engineering mathematics and disseminate the content on YouTube’s open course platform. The results of this study support enthusiastic learners pursuing engineering mathematics studies online. The instructional strategies in this course encompass inquiry-based learning, integrating information technology into teaching and self-guided tutoring. The efficacy of the teaching method was assessed by a questionnaire survey and qualitative analysis. Using the outcomes of this study, the following can be achieved: (1) the multimedia representation of key concepts in engineering mathematics, (2) the establishment of a self-directed learning environment, (3) the provision of opportunities for analogical reasoning, (4) the creation of unit-themed learning materials, and (5) development of a mobile learning environment. For the questionnaire survey, a Likert 5-point scale was used. The average score of the students for satisfaction score was 4.68 for the developed videos. Students were satisfied with the quality of the engineering mathematics materials presented by whiteboard animations. The materials underscore the importance of animations for the learning effect in engineering mathematics.
