This work introduces a new detection module based on two 1-mm thick 2×4 monolithic array of Silicon Drift Detectors (SDD) coupled to CMOS-based Charge Sensitive Amplifiers (CSA) arranged in a stacked structure with the goal to enhance the detection efficiency in the hard X-ray range. This solution aims to further increase the absorption efficiency of the system without acting on the substrate thickness of the SDD. The stacked design of the module is presented and the design choices are argued. The results from the assembly process and preliminary spectroscopy characterization of the obtained detection module are then discussed.
