In the course of multi-AWACS data fusion, the algorithm of interacting multiple model probabilistic data association (IMMPDA) which uses out-of-sequence measurement (OoSM) is developed to solve the nonlinear OoSMs of maneuvering target tracking in multiple AWACSs on moving platforms. The algorithm considers the influence of the curvature of the earth and the attitude of the platform based on the earth-centered earth-fixed (ECEF) coordinate system, and is close to reality. Compared with the standard IMMPDA algorithm which ignores the OoSM, the validity of the developed algorithm is verified by Monte Carlo simulation.
