How to identify the cascading fault sequences quickly and reflect the operating characteristics accurately in AC/DC hybrid power system has become an important research issue. In order to identify the cascading fault sequences of AC/DC hybrid power system, this paper established multi-feed short-circuit ratio index and weighted tidal entropy index from the perspective of power flow operation characteristics and AC-DC connection relationship respectively. Entropy weighting and correlation coefficient methods are combined to determine the weighted correlation for identifying cascading fault sequences. Load loss is used to assess the risk of the power grid by the determined cascading fault sequences. Case studies are carried out to validate the proposed method by the modified IEEE 39 AC/DC hybrid power system. Simulation results show that the proposed method identified the cascading fault sequences in AC/DC hybrid power system quickly and accurately.
