Due to insufficient damping of the power generation equipment in new energy power plants, it is difficult to follow the frequency and phase of the power grid, and distributed phase modulation units need to be configured. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the protection of distributed phase modulation units. This article first compares the differences between distributed phase modulation units and large-scale phase modulation units. By studying the overall functions and key technologies of distributed phase modulation unit protection, a distributed phase modulation unit protection configuration scheme and a screen grouping scheme are proposed, and related products are developed. The feasibility of the technical solution has been verified through on-site operation and inspection of the product.
