We investigated two types of 3D printed terahertz (THz) transmission diffraction gratings: binary phase grating and blazed grating. The diffraction efficiency as a function of diffraction angle was mathematically derived and simulated, and the printed THz gratings were tested using an FTIR system. Our study suggests that the 3D printed THz grating has the potential of being used as a dispersive optical element to characterize THz sources.
