Insulation panels are commonly utilized in separating liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers’ bulkheads from LNG. However, the current installation methods of insulation panels cannot satisfy the high-precision requirements. To improve the performance of LNG carriers, this paper presents an intelligent scheme. Initially, the technological process of installation stages and equipment of corresponding technology is introduced, which is crucial to improve installation precision and efficiency. In addition, an intelligent approach integrating real-time detection technology and intelligent control technology is enacted, including the machine visual, visual servo control, adaptive control, and visual prediction. Finally, future work is outlined based on the current research progress.
