Integration of renewable energy sources into the microgrid impacts Load Frequency Control (LFC) negatively. So, an effective solution to tackle the problem of LFC with RES in microgrid is needed. In this paper, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Genetic Algorithms (GA) are used to optimize the Proportional-Integral-Derivative (Three-term) gain constants for a single-area control system. When the traditional PID is implemented, this leads to the ordinary controller failing to modify the AGC. To optimize the three-term controller variables using PSO and GA. The method applies to single-area systems. The outcomes demonstrate how precisely and reliably the optimized controller variables were implemented. The performance of PSO and GA are also compared with Ziegler Nichols’s method of tuning PID parameters and Conventional PI controller. System equations are solved with MATLAB Simulation. When compared to a traditional controller, the optimized controller that has been suggested exhibits faster response times and higher control quality.
