Chinese electricity market construction is facing dual challenges from the changing operating characteristics of the grid with high proportional renewable energy and the complexities of the market environment; and the design of the market operation mechanism and the breakthrough of key technologies are the important driving force for the new power system construction and the realization of the carbon goals. This paper analyzes the changes and challenges brought to electricity market construction by the new power system, and points out the principles, goals and key issues on the basis of summarizing the practical experience to promote renewable energy consumption; based on the unified power market construction plan, it puts forward specific suggestions and measures for improving the mechanism of electricity market with high proportional renewable energy and analyzes the key technologies that are urgently needed to support electricity market operation with high proportional renewable energy.
