This paper proposed a modified virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control strategy for single-phase inverter application. In order to achieve zero-error tracking for reactive power output, an improved reactive-voltage control approach for the outer layer to emulate the characteristics of synchronous generator behavior. A doubleclosed-loop control strategy based on state observer and inductor current based on virtual impedance for power decoupling is also introduced for output voltage regulation. Finally, experimental results based on 3kVA prototype verify that the proposed control strategy, and the seamless transfer between grid-connected mode and island mode can be achieved.
