Summary form only given. We report a novel design of external-cavity diode lasers, which allows a broad and fast nonmechanical wavelength tuning. As the key element an electrooptical scanner is used consisting of a lithium nobate crystal with a series of domain-inverted triangular prisms. The desired domain structure was fabricated in z-cut lithium niobate via electric field poling with a novel electrode geometry. This method is based on patterning of the crystal surface by simple material ablation before poling and is described elsewhere in detail.
