A physical model coupling the contribution of SEI layer growth and crack propagation is developed to predict capacity fade of lithium-ion batteries and verified by laboratory tests with estimation errors below 0.5%. Results show SEI growth is the main contributor to capacity fade independently of considered three aging conditions.
