This research proposes the design of an asphalt mixture that has the property of self-repair, taking as a starting point the design of the conventional asphalt mixture, which incorporates 1 % of polymers and fibers of steel wool, with 1 %, 2 % and 3 % to improve the physical and mechanical behavior of the asphalt mixture and thus find the repair of cracks by heat induction, for this the three-point bending test is performed on the repaired samples to determine the percentage of recovery. The results obtained indicate that, in general, the repair of asphalt mixtures was 50.7% with respect to their initial resistance. In addition, it is observed that metallic aggregates increase the levels of repair of the mixtures and increase the stability in reference to a conventional mixture, being better the results obtained with the asphalt mixture with a lower percentage of steel wool fiber (1 %). If test sections are carried out and this technique is put into practice to see its viability, it is concluded that this technique will provide great potential in pavement maintenance.
