This work discusses the design of a novel solar array regulation technique aimed for satellites. The system is based on zero-voltage, zero-current, isolated, and unregulated dc-dc converters that are controlled in a sequential manner to regulate the bus voltage, providing fast transient response, and ensuring simple control loop design. A complete design methodology, in line with the European Space Agency standards, is reported in the paper. Computer simulations, and experimental results are included to validate the proposed system.
