With the continuous improvement of the technologies, the types of electronic games emerge one after another. Among them, text-based adventure games have become one of the favored types for many game developers. In this paper, we utilize the Unity platform engine to design and implement a 2D picture book style game with text-based adventure and puzzle solving as the core of the game. We write an original script and design the original characters and scenes. By communicating and interacting with the non-player characters in this game, player can control the protagonist to promote the plot. In the process of this game design and development, we draw the characters’ image, arrange the script and design the human-computer interaction. We also design a clear and lively operation interface and UI interface, improve the story logic of the whole game, write the script corresponding to each required function, and so that we finally finish the game and achieve the expected goal.
