Distribution system is the last step to supply electrical energy to the customers. Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) is one of the ten distribution companies of Pakistan, due to aged network and poor operating conditions, distribution network of HESCO is facing high technical losses. Voltage drop and power losses in the Distribution network of HESCO are mainly caused by poor power factor. Consumers are supplied with voltages well below lower acceptable limits. In this paper, the simulation studies are carried out on 11kV and 400V networks of OPH-II feeder of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) to analyze HT and LT bus voltages and power losses through Power System Simulator-Siemens Network Calculator (PSS SINCAL) software and compared the HT and LT bus voltages before and after installing capacitors. It is found that the capacitor offers minimum power losses and better voltage ratting as compare to existence network.
