In heart rate variability analysis, even a mere 1% presence of ectopic beats can introduce distortion in the results. In this study, we propose an adaptive ectopic correction method, taking into consideration the variability between adjacent beats and physiological limits, and evaluate its ectopic removal performance. As a result, our proposed approach demonstrates the potential to effectively reduce beat-to-beat variability without significant under- or over-interpolation, thus enhancing the accuracy of heart rate variability analysis.Clinical Relevance: The proposed adaptive correction algorithm can mitigate the distortion caused by ectopic beats, leading to an enhancement in the accuracy of HRV analysis.
