The scope of this paper is the design of PI controllers to regulate the voltages of the distribution network nodes at which PV systems (PVs) are connected. Firstly, the grid-connected Active Distribution Network (ADN) is modeled by a square coupled Multiple-Inputs Multiple-Outputs (MIMO) system. To address the problem of mutual interaction among PVs, the effective open-loop transfer function (EOTF) method is used to decompose the multi-loop voltage control system into a set of equivalent independent single loops. Then, the voltage at each PV node is controlled by a distinct PI designed to fulfill some control requirements defined by the designer. From the simulation results it is apparent that PI controllers guarantee robust performance and regulation at the desired individual voltage set-points in different scenarios of the considered ADN.
