An RFID authentication scheme based on ring signature was proposed. The Tag and back-end database were properly configured with different workloads, aiming to ensure the Tag's privacy and realize the authentication. This scheme only needed two bilinear pairing computations for any group size in the back-end database and no computation in Tag in order to enhance the network efficiency, which was suitable for the authentication of low cost RFID system.
