This work employs the linear least squares optimization to identify the electrical parameters of a squirrel cage induction motor. The peculiarity of the proposed method consists in the addition of a digital low-pass filter in the parameter estimation equation, and the application of a linear model for the induction motor at standstill. Experimental results and comparisons made with respect to traditional identification procedures show the validity of the method, even when faced with high levels of measurement noise.
