Energy is a key input for techno-economic growth of country, as a result rapidly increased energy demand, to be a challenging task in the power sector. The utilization of the renewable energy sources like wind, solar etc. are being much focused to balance the demand with the power sources. Solar energy is one of prime energy of renewable energy resource, which converts directly sun rays into electrical energy. One of the problems on solar energy conversion is the maximum power extracting. To improve efficiency of energy conversion, PV system needs maximum power point tracking (MPPT). This paper proposed an artificial intelligence-based fuzzy logic MPPT modeling and control of PV system. The proposed technique uses seven fuzzy sets with seven linguistic variables applied to a DC-DC converter. MATLAB/simulink results show the behavior of proposed FLC based MPPT controller in terms of MPP and efficiency.
