In this article, a novel dual wideband microstrip antenna that contains semicircular shaped radiating element integrated with a $\boldsymbol{\mho}$-shaped slot has been proposed for advanced wireless communication applications. All the radiating elements and semicircular ground plane have been printed on a 1.6 mm thickness low cost FR4 substrate having dimensions of $25 \times 40\ \text{mm}2$. The reported antenna is fed by $50-\Omega$ micro strip feed line and the desired impedance matching is achieved by using tapered shape feed line. For antenna design and analysis, 3D electromagnetic software HFSS has been used. The designed antenna is covering the frequencies ranging from 2.27 GHz–2.6GHz and 3.0 GHz-20 GHz under the condition of $S_{11}\leq-10\ \text{dB}$. The performance of the presented dual wideband compact antenna is analyzed in terms of its return loss ($S_{11}$), gain, and radiation patterns. The obtained results illustrate that the designed multiband antenna can be used for 2.3 GHz LTE/WiBro, 2.4/5 GHz WLAN/WiMAX and 3.1-10.6 GHz UWB applications.
