This paper outlines a curriculum optimization plan for electrical engineering and automation at Shandong University of Science and Technology, aligning with the “dual carbon goal” and new power system requirements. Focused on “new energy + digital intelligence,” it designs a knowledge framework in response to the characteristics of these power systems. The plan integrates national teaching quality standards, discussing alignment and division between Chinese and foreign courses. It defines curriculum, adjusts specialized content, and forms a multidisciplinary teaching team using “three integrations and three combinations.” Moreover, AI, including emotion recognition, aids classroom instruction. This program was applied from 2018 to 2022, with student feedback highlighting rich content, effective teaching, and improved professional competence.
