This paper presents a passive temperature compensated phase shifter based on a titanate substrate. The temperature compensated phase shifter utilizes the high dielectric constant substrate. The drift of the dielectric constant with temperature changing leads to the function of adjusting the phase of the passing signal in real time. A prototype phase shifter with a center frequency of 5.2GHz and a bandwidth of 1.6GHz has been designed, fabricated and tested. The test results show that the temperature compensated phase shifter has the characteristics of low insertion loss and simple structure, moreover, test results verify the accuracy of the design method of the temperature compensated phase shifter. By using the proposed passive temperature compensated phase shifter, both low cost and high efficiency for module design can be reached at the same time.
