Discriminating drones from each other and from other similarly sized objects such as birds is an ongoing problem. This paper presents a methodology for calibrating radars with corner reflectors to empirically verify the range-bin to range conversion. Radar returns of drones are analyzed using time-frequency methods. Using a drone that mimics a bird, the ability to differentiate a drone from the bird is demonstrated using helicopter rotor modulation (HERM) lines.
