In the current work, the performance of Polarity Controllable-Ferroelectric-Ion sensitive FET (PC-FE-ISFET) is extensively investigated for pH sensing applications. It is anticipated that the presence of ferroelectric (FE) layer in gate-stack of PC-FE-ISFET will not only provide sub-60 mV/dec subthreshold swing values along with improved current drivability but will also provide superior sensitivity in comparison to conventional polarity controllable-Ion sensitive FET (PC-ISFET). The proposed PC-FE-ISFET exhibits ON-state to OFF- state current ratio sensitivity (δI ON/OFF ) as high as 1.95 x 10 6 (2.94 x 10 4 ) in comparison to conventional PC-ISFET which demonstrates δI ON/OFF as high as 2.04 x 10 5 (8.12 x 10 2 ).
