In this paper, a design optimization of a Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) had been studied for high torque density. The maximum torque density of 56.4 Nm/L at base speed is confirmed by FEM. The effectiveness of specifications such as the current density, the slot fill factor and etc. are shown. FEM analysis results show effective parameter in torque improvement. Design methodology of stator and rotor is proposed.
