The effect of the air velocity on the collection efficiency of microorganisms was examined in this work. The study was carried out using a bio impactor developed and validated in our laboratory. Six sampling sites were chosen to perform measurements at different air velocities (5m/s, 10m/s and 20m/s). Before measurements, the air velocity was calculated and modified by varying the aspiration flow and the nozzle diameter of the used device. The air velocity of 20m/s was found to yield the maximum of collection efficiency. The experiments and results are described and discussed in the paper.
