In order to achieve elliptical cylindrical ruled surface sawing, a command points interpolation method suitable for sawing of elliptical cylindrical ruled surface is proposed. Based on the geometric characteristics of circular saw blades and elliptical cylindrical ruled surfaces, a kinematic geometric model for elliptical cylindrical ruled surface sawing is established, and the coordinates of the tool cutting contact points are calculated. Then, the motion coordinates of the entire cycle of the five-axis machine tool are obtained through post-processing. Finally, the proposed algorithm was simulated to verify its reliability in the sawing process of elliptical cylindrical ruled surfaces.
