This paper highlights the D2D communication in cellular systems under time division duplexing (TDD) mode to improve the capacity and system performance. The power optimization problem for downlink has been solved using non negative fractional programming (NNFP) using genetic algorithm (GA). The derived optimal values for power allocation coefficients results in the increasing system throughput of the whole contour. Simulation results demonstrate the proposed algorithm results in improved capacity and system performance.
