The aim of this paper is to verify the input voltage balance characteristics of a multiconnected half-bridge converter for dc power networks. The input side of the multiconnected half-bridge converter is connected in series. Since the input voltage of each converter is divided by the number of converters, low voltage semiconductors like MOSFETs can be used. For series-input converters, the voltage balance characteristics are important. One of the reasons for the input voltage unbalance is mismatched gate signals of MOSFETs. It is validated by an input-series output-series half-bridge converter with 1500V dc bus voltage. experimental results of the prototype provide the key design criteria.
