In this paper the influence of packet interleaving on VoIP connection quality (transmission rating factor) is investigated. It is proved that contribution of interleaving in this case depends on a type of coder (compressor), on a percent of packet loss, on a packetization period and on a packet total transmission delay. Depending on a combination of these influencing factors, there are situations when VoIP connection quality is even decreased when interleaving is implemented.
