This work faces the problem of stabilization of time-delay nonlinear systems represented by Takagi-Sugeno models. Delay-dependent conditions written as linear matrix inequalities are obtained that are less conservative than those available in the literature. Our proposal combines a nonquadratic Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional with the Wirtinger integral inequality, thus producing more relaxed conditions. A more general control structure is adopted that considers a term which takes into account the effect of time-delays. The applicability and effectiveness of the developed results are shown through illustrative examples.
